Magnet Sales are part of a European consortium tasked with the investigation into recycling NdFeB magnets and also the sourcing of critical Rare Earth materials. Mainly the Neodymium Iron Boron magnets in Hard Disc Drives, Loudspeakers and other waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). The three year project will involve collection of raw materials, design and the build of a pilot plant for recycling the magnets re-manufacture of the reclaimed magnets into new magnet materials followed by extensive test and comparison to starting material grades.
The project is called Magnetronic-Rec which is focused on recycling NdFeB magnets from waste electricals regulated by WEEE.
